PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE lessons
are generally scheduled once per week for 1 hour in
either late afternoon or evening time
slots. Please review our schedule or contact us
to ask about available times.

Enrollment – Private
and semi-private lesson tuition is invoiced
and paid at the first lesson at the beginning
of each month for that subsequent month. Paying
the tuition for that month reserves a lesson
slot. Additionally, fees may be included for
the purchase of the student’s lesson books
and any needed materials like guitar strings,
straps, etc.

Tuition - All payments of any
private lesson tuition is due at the first lesson
of each month. Fees for private lessons are
$35.00 per 1-hour or usually $140.00 for a 4-lesson
month. Our private lesson policy requires that
students maintain a minimum of 4 lessons per
month to retain their time slot (please contact
us for details). |

SEMI-PRIVATE or Family group rates
are available for class lessons at $35/hr for the
first student and $20/hr for each additional family
member. For example; Father and daughter can take
a semi-private lesson for $55/hr.
A 10% discount is offered for pre-payment of 3 months
on either private or semi private lessons.
- Cancellation Policy - As a music
instructor I make my livelihood by providing music
lessons on a ongoing/weekly reserved student schedule.
I prepare for each weeks lessons by reviewing my notes
on the students progress and planning that days specific
steps for each student. If a student has a anticipated
conflict (Doctor appointments, vacations, etc), we
ask that you make every effort to let us know in advance.
We in turn will make every effort to work with you
to reschedule the make-up lesson as our private lesson
schedule allows.
Please
note that our general policy is to allow 1 make-up
for a 24 hour advance notice cancellation or schedule
change per month. This keeps the students space reserved
and is not quite as inflexible as a straight monthly
tuition arrangement. Tuition is forfeited
for lessons cancelled less than 24 hours
before the scheduled time by the student, including
the first lesson of the month.
Please note that priority for rescheduling make-up
sessions goes to the students that have notified us
with greater than 24 hour notice, and make-up sessions
are at our discretion.
If
we need to cancel any lessons for any reason, they
can either be made up that month or the credit for
that lesson will be applied to the next month’s
statement at our discretion.

FALL 2011 MAGELLAN GROUP GUITAR
Beginning 1 Group Guitar (For 4th grade and above)
STARTS - SEPTEMBER 1st (Orientation)
The Beginning 1 class is designed
for the student with little or no background on guitar,
and aims to introduce basic foundation guitar chords
and techniques. Students will learn a few of the open/primary
chords, proper holding and maintenance of the guitar,
strumming, with the performance of some simple lesson
songs by the end of the 12 weeks. Popular songs are
incorporated into the lessons and used as the foundation
for skill improvement. Additionally, the students
will be exposed to music appreciation sessions and
video instruction.
The
Beginning 2 class (available Spring
2012) is a continuation of skills learned in the Beg
1 class, or for those students with some basic early
skills on the guitar. Auditions may be required to
determine a student level and readiness for the class.
Complex chords and strum patterns are introduced with
the emphasis on learning more complex songs.
Tuition is $250 for 12 sessions of
instruction for both classes (includes music instruction
materials). Students must provide their own playable
guitar, strap, electronic tuner, back-up set of guitar
strings, and a binder for hand-out materials.
Please print/sign the form below and mail or drop
the completed registration immediately at the Magellan
front office. The tuition registration fee of $250
is due at the time of registration and holds a space
in the class. Deadline for tuition payment and a signed
form is August 26th.You may also

Based on ORFF-SCHULWERK methods, this class will be
a chanting, banging, jumping hootenanny,
of percussion and Recorder tunes for 3rd and 4th grade
Magellan students.
